Geek Etiquette: Save the Date in Style

Save the Dates are a weird piece of etiquette for engaged couples– it’s an initial card announcing the date of your wedding, before you send the invite. It might seem like an unnecessary extra step when you’re planning a wedding, but it’s a great way to alert friends and family of your impending nuptials and get that date in your calendar sooner.

Whether you’re having a geeky themed wedding or having something a bit more formal/traditional and just want to have some fun with your STDs (that’s seriously what they’re called in online-wedding-speak), Geekvites has you covered. Their current Save the Dates include references to fandoms including Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Portal, Back to the Future, Hunger Games, and more. The cards are nice enough that the non-geeky family and friends may not even notice, but those in the know will squeal with delight.

I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Geekvites–hopefully we’ll see full wedding invitation sets and non-wedding invites in the near future!

Save the Dates, starting at $90 for 50 at Geekvites.com.
