24 Hours of Cooking: Sandvich

At this point in Extra Life, we were gaming for four hours and feeling pretty good. I know we needed a meal that would sustain us, but not make us too full or tired. The “sandvich” from Team Fortress 2 seemed like a perfect option. Meat, cheese, veggies, a tiny bit of carbs–it hit pretty much every food group! The best part? It’s super easy to make. Seriously. I don’t even need to write out a recipe. You just have to take a look at the diagram and follow it:

I recommend turkey and swiss for the lunch meat and cheeses. Follow it up with some tomato slices, lettuce, white bread, and an olive, and you’re set! (Or you can get fancy and add some condiments like we did. I added pesto to mine!)

I don’t know how or why, but this sandwich tasted better than any I’ve made in a long time. Way to go, Valve.

  2. Actually the real sandvich uses equal parts ham and bologna not turkey so if you want a full heavy meal go ham.
