Decorate with DNA

DNA 11 creates beautiful prints out of your DNA, fingerprints, and kisses. Showcase some artwork that no one else will have, or put up multiple prints to showcase your family. I think this would be a really neat way to decorate a nursery (and would provide your child with a unique piece of art they can take with them as they get older)!

Fab.com is currently having a sale for the prints, with prices over $100 off the original.

DNA, Fingerprint, and Kiss portraits, $199-$279 at Fab.com.

Superhero Spatulas

Williams-Sonoma has expanded its Marvel Kitchen collection to include spatulas, and unlike the Star Wars ones, these may actually be a more practical size/shape. The Spider-man looks like it could handle most foods pretty well.

Williams-Sonoma also came up with a cute comic book that teaches cooking terms to kids while battling bad guys. Bonus: It has recipes for sugar cookies and turkey burgers in the back.

Spatulas, $14 each or 4 for $49.95 at Williams-Sonoma.

Beer Plus Cupcakes = Love

I just discovered the wonderful blog Sweet and Stout, that specializes in beer cupcakes. I’m thinking a beer-y cupcake may be the perfect thing for a nice Fall day.

The blog is also just a couple hundred dollars away from reaching their Kickstarter goal to sell their cupcakes locally in Spokane, WA. Help them out, if you feel so inclined, or just take a peek at their blog for delicious and unique cupcakes!

Dexter Blood Slide Coasters

Feel just like Dexter (without all of the killing) with these blood slide coasters. I personally think they’d be a great conversation starter and/or way to get people out of your home. Use them during a Dexter premiere party on October 2nd!

Are you looking forward to the return of Dexter?

Muppet Nail Polish

OPI will be releasing a special Muppet-inspired line of nail polish in honor of the new movie coming out November 23.

Surprisingly, the colors are beautiful and perfect for Fall/Holiday parties. If you want a bit of extra fun, the rainbow glitter polish (appropriately titled “Rainbow Connection”) and green glitter polish (“Fresh Frog of Bel-Air”) will put you in the mood for the movie.

I personally am excited for the light metallic bronze (“Designer, Do Better!”) for every day, and the glittery red (“Gettin Miss Piggy With It”) for Christmas.

Will you be rocking the Muppet polish? Are you excited for the new movie?

OPI Nail Polish, $8.50 each. Arrives in stores in November.

DnD For Dads

James Stowe created some fantastic (and easy to use) character sheets that he could use when running a DnD campaign for his 8-year-old son and his friends. He is generously sharing a PDF file where you can download all of the sheets, and rumor has it he’s making a set for girls as well. I hadn’t thought of introducing DnD to a younger set before, but now I can’t think of a better idea. Kids have such a larger imagination and set of problem solving skills than adults–they’d be fantastic!

(If you use and love the sheets, show some love and send a donation James’ way!)

Imperial Forces Wallpaper

Imperial Forces Wallpaper

I never thought I’d say the phrase “elegant Star Wars wallpaper,” but here I go. This is some fantastic and elegant Star Wars wallpaper. The design is small and beautiful enough to be unassuming, but look closer and you’ll see the faces of Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and members of the Empire. The wallpaper’s a bit expensive for a whole wall, but you can get creative and wallpaper a smaller area, an accent wall, or even put a bit in a frame or tile it with a solid wallpaper.

Imperial Forces Wallpaper, starting at $75 at Super7store.com.
